Cambridge A Level Maths Past Papers: Pure 3 (9709/3)
Topics included: Algebra, Logarithmic and exponential functions, Trigonometry, Differentiation, Integration, Numerical Solution of Equations, Vectors, Differential Equations, Complex Numbers.
Changes to subject content:
- Algebra: Content on sketching a modulus graph added.
- Differentiation: derivative of the inverse tangent added.
- Integration: added the concept of 'reverse differentiation'.
- Integration: Trapezium rule removed.
- Vectors: Vector content moved from Pure 1 to Pure 3 but Vector Equations of Planes has been removed entirely.
- Time limit increased by 5 minutes to 1 hour 50 minutes.
Notes: Students must now be able to sketch the graph of a modulus function, find the derivative of inverse tan and understand integration as the inverse of differentiation. The trapezium rule has been removed from Pure 3 but remains in Pure 2. For more vectors practice questions students can refer to Pure 1 past papers for vectors questions. Ignore all questions on Vector Equations of Planes.
